19th December 2014
Dear Ms Elin-Salt,
Thank you for your recent expenses. I have done some calculations and your tax bill for the year 2013 – 2014 will be £**** (insert terrifying and ridiculous figure here) for the first instalment in January and a further £**** (ditto) for the second in July.
Despite this, have a very merry Christmas.
🎶 It’s the mooooost wonderful tiiiiime of the yeeeeeear…
With the kids jingle-belling and everyone telling you to MAYBE START THINKING ABOUT A PGCE BECAUSE YOU WERE ALWAYS SUCH A CLEVER CHILD AND AUDITION FOR EMMERDALE AND PERHAPS ITS TIME TO COME BACK FOR GOOD AS THE PROPERTY LADDER ISN’T GETTING ANY SHORTER AND THE MORTGAGE ADVISORS WILL LAUGH IN YOUR VERY FACE ON THOSE WAAAAAGES 🎶
Here is is, Part 2, of Katie’s excellent guest article. Missed Part 1? Here it is!
After Mondays outpouring of grief (sorry, support) from lush people of the acting world and beyond – here are life lessons 6 – 10. As lived by me. All stories are very much truth. I would like to dedicate this section to the good people of natwest bank for sticking by me and my dream since the beginning and for never, ever threatening to take my overdraft away.
Thank you all so much for reading ❤️
6. You Will Be Poor
Here is a photo of me, in June 2010. I am wearing a green Karen Millen dress complete with matching heels that my Mother bought for me, I have had my hair professionally blow dried for the occasion. There I am, proudly clutching my 2:1 BA(Hons) Acting from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama – with absolutely no fucking idea what was supposed to happen next. If you look close enough I’m sure you can see the panic in my smile.
